THREE people have been killed in separate smashes on NSW roads.

The latest death is that of a 38-year-old motorcyclist at Wetherill Park, western Sydney.

The man's Suzuki 1300CC collided with a ute at the corner of Elizabeth and Victoria Streets about 2.45pm (AEDT) on Monday.

The motorcyclist died at the scene and the ute driver, also 38, was uninjured.

Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit officers were still at the scene on Monday evening and have called for witnesses to come forward.

The crash came after an elderly woman was fatally injured in a smash at Matraville, in the city's southeast.

She was a passenger in a Datsun 180B involved in a collision with an Audi 4WD at noon (AEDT) on Bunnerong Road.

Rescuers freed the 82-year-old but she died in hospital.

The driver of the Audi, a 31-year-old woman, was not injured.

About an hour earlier, a truck driver was killed in a two-truck crash on the Hume Highway near Yass in southern NSW.

The 48-year-old Glenmore Park man died at the scene, police said, while the driver of the second truck was not injured.

Police will prepare a report on each crash for the coroner.
